Rob Cooper

Rob has been a certified personal trainer for over 15 years. Rob’s passion for fitness, health and athletics started in highschool as a competitive athlete. This passion drove Rob to explore a career as a personal trainer and obtain his PT certification in 2006. Rob later went on to graduate and receive diplomas from both the Recreation and Leisure (Therapeutic Recreation) and Business at Mohawk College.

Shortly following graduation, Rob relocated to Vancouver B.C., where he worked as a personal trainer at a busy downtown gym as well as a consultant with a fitness equipment company. In 2012, Rob returned to Hamilton, Ont. and enrolled in the Health, Wellness and Fitness program at Mohawk College. It was here he had the opportunity to expand his knowledge and practical skills through many different courses and certifications, while learning under the guidance of his professors, who are amongst some of the leaders in the fitness industry. During this time, Rob was given opportunities to work as a Strength Coach with the Mohawk Women’s Rugby and Basketball teams, a trainer with Core Fusion working with local sports teams and athletes, a trainer with the students of Police Foundations Program and also served as member of the Mohawk College Students Association/Athletics Association.

From 2014-2018 Rob worked throughout the GTA as a personal trainer, strength coach and department head at a local gym and athletic performance academy. In 2018, Rob moved and finally settled in Barrie, Ont., where he has worked as an independent personal trainer before finally opening Iron Realm Fitness in 2020.

Rob aims to provide high quality 1-on-1 personal training in a private atmosphere and believes personal training should be just that, personal. He knows a good personal training experience should provide the client with support not just for their physical health and fitness but also support their mental and emotional health as well.
